Releasing new album, 'Kites', online.

This is an incredibly shameless post, but after 4 1/2 years, I've put together a new album of recordings that will be released this coming weekend on March 20th, 2011. I have chosen to release my new record as I had my last five albums, and will provide the entire album and any remixes associated with it that I produce for free download and distribution by anyone, anywhere.

This sixth album is important to me for a few reasons: a) This record is an entirely new spin on how I approach the recording process, and is my first honest attempt at just making music without attempting to perfect every aspect of a song; b) This album is my first in a number of years, but is the most emotionally significant for me, as the songs represent emotions I have experienced in the last two years from an abusive relationship, emotionally destructive family life, deaths, and new beginnings; and c) I have no job, was kicked out of my family's home in December, and decided to try following one of my passions from my best friend's couch until I get a callback from someone who may have a potential source of income for me.

I'm aware this may not stay on Current for long, but if you are a fan of electronic music, and know of any web sites that I can post my new album to, or any independent online radio stations, I'll appreciate any links.

In the meantime, you are welcome to listen to the first public release from the new album, a song called "Home?", on SoundCloud: http://soundcloud.com/joshuadpeterson/home
