I’ve sung the praises of the Paper Mill Theater before. It is the home of great Broadway-level productions of generally lighter, always entertaining fare about 30 minutes and $30 a ticket from midtown.
One of the best things about it is something you too rarely see on the Great White Way: the Kids. Big kids, Little kids. Children in all sizes and shapes who have the opportunity to experience -- and perhaps begin a love affair with -- live theater.
The Paper Mill was filled with them Sunday at the premiere of the current production of “A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.” With good reason. There’s no better way to introduce young people to theater than this classic.
