Jerry Heller was the a manager. But was also a part owner of Ruthless. Eazy-E had the majority interest in Ruthless records which legally meant that any direction Eazy wanted the company to go was fine regardless of Jerry Heller's protests.

Later around 1994 Eazy-E wanted to fire Jerry Heller as manager of Ruthless Records. Something dissuaded him from doing so.

I think Suge was working with JDL for business purposes. Tupac wanted out of death row. When Tupac was jailed for whatever, the bail was excessive, Suge offered to bail him out ONLY so long as Tupac extended his contract.

Then toward the end, Tupac was about to leave Death Row and start his own record company, Machiavelli Records, in direct competition with Death row. According to the F.B.I. documents, that time period is when the J.D.L. death threats started coming in and he was killed soon after.

I never cared much for Tupac's music although I did admire his acting, especially in that movie "Juice".
