With an already looming deadline and critics waiting, Keith Forbes has decided to promote his latest release "The Lightsaber Album" by giving away a free song every week. In a campaign properly titled "Free Music Mondays," Forbes derives the concept from the Chicago based radio station WGCI which allows independent artist to solicit their singles every Monday. The campaign will continue for 7 weeks and will feature 9 singles available for free download on Facebook and other sites.
Prelude de Avant Garde is Keith Forbes first musical project since his 2010 "Whatever's Necessary," released under the former stage name I. Write. The title "Prelude de Avant Garde" translates as "Before the Experiment," which refers to the soon to be released "Lightsaber Album".
Although Forbes previous releases have more commercial in nature, Forbes chooses to explore a distinctively non-traditional Hip Hop sound. The move is slightly risky, but the musical approach is still familiar.
Prelude de Avant Garde features a variable montage of rappers, singers, song writers, and artist from around Art and Culture diverse world. The likes of Bob Chin and Jimmy Rhythm are mainstays within Forbes usually circle, but underground female MC Zadella and Grammy nominated gospel singer, song writer Qiana Brock, add dimension to the project.
Free Music Mondays begins on May 9th with the two singles from Prelude de Avant Garde, Pre-Fresh and Coco Chanel Award.
