Rap artist wins payout over 'My Humps' sample

Cleveland rap artist, Orrin Lynn Tolliver Jr, has won a copyright infringment lawsuit against his former friend/collaborator after one of his tracks was used in the Black Eyed Peas song "My Humps".

Tolliver Jr sued collaborator James McCants after one of its songs "I Need A Freak" was used in the 2005 hit. A New York court ordered McCants to pay $1,185,591.59 (or £740,940) in both unearned profits and damages to copyright.
