Herbie Hancock, winner of the 2008 Album of the Year Grammy for River: The Joni Letters took the stage with Joni, his longtime friend and inspiration, when he taped a show for Nissan Live Sets. Sonya Kitchell is featured as well.

This performance from 2009 was just made available.
Hancock and Mitchell play ’Hana’ from her latest album ‘Shine’.

Love the line: “Don’t get me wrong, this is no simple Sunday song where God or Jesus comes along and they save ya / you’ve gotta be braver than that, you tackle the beast alone, with all its tenacious teeth.”

Light the lamp.
