      To be fair, he didn't actually say that this footage is of the very first bungee jump ever, just that these people were the first ones to have done it. Looks like a case of confusing/misleading editing.

      This footage was shot October 1979. But the Dangerous Sports Club bungee'd off Clifton Suspension Bridge in Bristol on April 1st 1979. I guess that's what the guy meant by 'they tested this in a very small way in England'. Clifton Suspension Bridge deck is 245 feet above water level, the same height as Golden Gate. So that wasn't just a test, it was THE first bungee jump.

      Other than that detail, this is great footage.
