Smorrisey, I think you missed the tone of sarcasm and jest. People will see what they want to in writing I suppose.
If you could give an example of some irresponsible journalism produced by current that would be great?

Ando:
soooo cool to support 12000 greedy, yuppie writers.lets punish these companies who employ, feed, insure hundreds of thousands of lower-middle class families...with futile boycott efforts so that more families get to go on welfare....if you think executives of these conglomerates will suffer ....you are wrong.
phillyhaper:
"media conglomerates since they do nothing but poison and manipulate us to their own diabolical ends"yeah...I think current.com officially has become the mecca for paranoid conspiracy theorists / end of the world cultists. Taking extreme fear mongering and irresponsible journalism to a whole new level.
this is what happens when amateurs try to carry the huge responsibility and burden of directors at companies like time warner.
keep up the good work people.

Support the Writer's Guild of America by boycotting these companies any way you can. These corporations argue that shows created for the internet aren't worth anything because they're given away - but that's not true. As you can see, they make money everywhere along the line, from internet subscriptions to action figures.
Have you noticed that TV is really, really boring lately? Tired of watching "reality" shows? Sick of the lame jokes on The Daily Show and Colbert Report (shame on them for crossing the picket line)? It's because the talented people who write for television and film are on strike. Want TV to be funny again? Support the WGA in their strike against these conglomerate corporations.

The Big Ten was highlighted as a problem back in the eighties when it was actually a much higher number. Don't quote me on it but it was around 60 I think. Here we are, 20 years on staring down the barrel of 10! We're doomed and no-one even knows it, which makes them perceive that they are not actually doomed, which I suppose is actually not a bad thing....Oh what a conundrum.
For the lowdown on this epic and massively destructive problem there is only one person you need to refer to. Noam Chomsky. His film "Manufacturing Consent" will have you liberated from the Big Ten's shackles in just over 2 hours. It's well worth the watch, but I warn you that it will send you on a life long quest to rid the world of media conglomerates since they do nothing but poison and manipulate us to their own diabolical ends....
