Disney World Bans Children

Well, at least from one of their restaurants.

Beginning this week, children under 10 are no longer welcome at Victoria & Albert's in the Grand Floridian Resort & Spa. Victoria & Albert's is Walt Disney World's only restaurant with an AAA five-diamond rating.

Only about three families a month ever brought young children to Victoria & Albert's, said Rosemary Rose, Disney's vice president for food, beverage and merchandise operations.

Men are required to wear jackets, and women must wear dresses or pantsuits. The hushed atmosphere features live harp music, and the menu, which changes daily, offers seven-course dinners that can last as long as three hours. Prices start at $125 a person.

Oh, and they don't serve chicken nuggets.

    • hear hear!! i could never finsh 7 courses so i highly doubt that a child could with out getting sick(wich i'm sure the rich snobs would not appreciate) and anyway your not going to want to pay that much for dinner just to have your kid full by the second course!

    • i think that banning children is not a bad decision on their part, i doubt parents would stretch their childrens lunch to a 7 course meal to fill up an 8 yr olds tummy

    • What the heck are people bringing young children to a place like that for anyhow. It is a good idea to ban them for their own good and the good of the other customers.

    • I agree with dransomjr,

Let the snobs have their "premier five diamond dining experience".

There are many family friendly venues to take your kids to.

    • No big deal. I think it's a good move to enhance the guest experience. I've never eaten at Victoria and Albert's, but I do think that there are a lot more appropriate places at Walt Disney World for kids to eat. If you pay the big bucks to eat at Victoria & Albert's, you are not going to want to hear little Timmy or Polly screaming and crying. The Grand Floridian Hotel is nice, but it's a little too rich and stuck-up for my taste...WDW must have over 100 other restaurants and dining places. Chef Mickeys (in your picture) is perfect for kids.
