A Texas woman who reportedly had to remove a nipple ring with a pair of pliers has spoken out about the incident in a bid to get Transport Security Administration to formally apologise.
Mandi Hamlin was scanned by a handheld detector which beeped when it detected both of her nipple rings, she asked if she could board the flight if she showed the nipple rings to a female attendant, but other officers refused, claiming both had to be fully removed. After removing the first one, she had difficulty removing the second 'ring,' when she said she couldn't get it out without pliers, a TSA staff member handed her a pair.
"I wouldn't wish this experience upon anyone," Mandi Hamlin said at a news conference. "My experience with TSA was a nightmare I had to endure. No one deserves to be treated this way."
