    • Would taking two and a half pills really cause you any harm? How were they able to do this supervised? Why does the article make a point of identifying the race of the students (African American) and teacher (Caucasian)?

    • i knew someday that the movie 9-5 would eventually get it's karmic turnstyle for it's fictional representation of rat poison and i thought it would be in an episode of 'lil fred' as a small spin off of lil bush depticting Fred Phelps.

    • genius kids turn on their predecessors? wow.
i hate to see what kind of person they grow up to be. normally those this minds such as these kids grow up to be writers or end up in jail.
but those that take the path of a writer never act upon their imagination.
also when events like this take place they are not normally in a third grade classroom. i fear that the day that even teachers will have to carry protection with them to school is closer then we would like to think. i don't want to imagine a second grade teacher having a concealed weapons permit and a gloc 45 under her blouse.

    • This is definitely a reflection on society. Teachers represent "the man" and our social consciousness glorifies railing against "the man". Not because that particular man is necessarily bad either.
It has become acceptable, and even sport to come up with clever ways to get back at that man. Why is it so surprising that our children are modeling the behavior that see day after day throughout society?
We have become a nasty nation. We hate everyone and everything. No one wants to lend a helping hand. Doing for others is frowned upon. Its easier and more satisfying to complain about how some other person/place/thing is loathsome. Media, parents, government and everywhere we look, people are nasty to each other...for kicks or maybe because it makes them feel better about themselves (at least better than the poor schmuck they berate). Maybe if we decided to actually be nice and do for one another, with no expectations in return, kids might start behaving the same way. At the very least, it would make this a nicer place to be.

    • They're sick of the "No Child Left" behind program.

They don't get to go out and play anymore, all arts programs are practically GONE, so it's no wonder they're going crazy...

    • Now, in all fairness, we all had childhood fantasies about taking revenge on our teachers. But, most of us also learned that we could SLOWLY torture our teachers to death with tacks, spitballs, fire alarms, and pen clicking. Much more fun...

    • How can kids that young hate that much? We wouldn't have even considered stepping out of line at school - the punishment when you got home just wasn't worth it.
11 and 12 year olds should be in 6th and 7th grade. You would think at that age, they would know that all the Tylenol would do is make the tea taste funny. Wasn't even enough to make her sick. Our teachers would have paddled our butts and then called our parents.

    • yeah , it's a sad thing when kids want to off their teachers more often than their parents ( it would seem ) - another example of bad parenting .

    • C'mon this is bush league stuff. In middle school numerous teachers were gone for weeks, puking their guts out from somehow ingesting poisonous cleaners.

    • For those who missed the story earlier this week, here's the link to the post about the third graders plotting against their teacher (even bringing a knife to school).
