Mercades Nichols, one of eight teens charged in the brutal attack which was captured on a YouTube video, was bailed out by a representative of the show on Friday night, according to a report from MyFOXTampaBay.com.

A judge on Friday set bails ranging from $30,000 to $37,000 for the teenagers.

The Dr. Phil representative was waiting by the jail's exit, and when Nichols walked out, he tried to block Tampa TV station camera people from getting video of Nichols and her family leaving jail.

In the statement on Saturday, the Dr. Phil show said that bailing the girl out of jail was a violation of the show’s rules, and that the show would no longer go forward with the girl’s story.

    • Shame on you Dr. Phil!
Those girls need to be punished! A tongue lashing is far from what they need! They need to be locked up far from any media attention, far from society for a very long time.
      This infuriates me so...

    • Dr. Phil's just a scumbag. all he does is exploit people and talk down to them, as if he knows the secret to living life. I think he needs a dose of his own medicine.

    • They definately need counseling but I'm doubting that Dr. Phil would be the best one to give it since part of their problem is an addiction to attention and Dr. Phil would just make it even worse.

Seems a lot more of a selfish attempt to grab ratings by someone from the Dr. Phil Show than for helping those teens with a problem since then they would need even more therapy to recover from the attention they got and what would happen after they were on his show.

Apparently one of the producers got over zealous and went past the boundaries of the guidelines in the attempt to get ratings, I doubt he'll keep his job long with the bad press this gives the show and the money lossed from the bail.

    • I don't usually Dr. Phil. at all. But news wise, I've already seen 2 cases where Dr. Phil stops a show. Is this free media? Why shouldn't people know about this issue, or for the curious asses Britney Spear's case?
