Republican Sen. Cary Baker, a gun shop owner from Eustis, Florida, called the adornments offensive and proposed the ban. Motorists would be fined $60 for displaying the novelty items, which are known by brand names like "Truck Nutz" and resemble the south end of a bull moving north.
The Florida Senate voted last week to add the measure to a broader transportation bill, but it is not included in the House version.
Critics of the ban included the Senate Rules Chairman, Sen. Jim King, a Jacksonville Republican whose truck sported a pair until his wife protested.

Those things scream white trash...but I think a ban is a little unnecessary and an infringement of rights. As long as they are balls made of plastic, then it can't be considered indecent exposure or anything of that sort.
I saw a blue pair hanging from a truck on my way to Austin a few weeks ago. I almost swerved while watching them blue balls sway in the wind.

I imagine it's a whole lot easier to spend time outlawing fake tesiticles thatn it is to get some real work done on issues that really matter. The fake T's are silly, shocking to some and funny to others. It's walking the hairy edge (sorry) of art and good taste - but lighten up alread. As long as the bull isn't still attached to them, what's the harm?

this also makes me want to run out to Spencers and buy a xtra pair to put on my trk just to prove to the lawmakers that howsilly and stupid the person in florida really is to protest against something that it so little the only thing he did was promoted the ideal for the company who makes them. where is this country going to make silly laws like this . I would realy like to know how much taxpayers money is spent just on this silly law???

Personally I think they are one of the dumbest things I've ever seen on a vehicle, but in saying that making it illegal may be even dumber. Honestly, does it offend you that somebody has FAKE nads hanging from their car? And if it does, why? What harm is it doing? Get over yourself.

Ok, so I have had time to think about this. I say that we find the specific Senate Lawmaker's (that find them offensive) vehicles and put the truck nutz on them.
Let's see how long it would take for them to notice a pair of balls hanging from their Lexus or Audi!

Despite the fact that I think car balls are annoying, I gotta say that the state doesn't have much right to give the snip to people who use them, so to speak.

You mean, these idiots are so worried about offensive nuts to the point of congressional involvement? And nobody finds it offensive to tax citzens on their first amendment rights to freedom of speak? Oh that's right, we voted off our freedoms, so let's hear it for extortion!

It would appear that Florida has a significant budget surplus to waste defending the inevitable 1ST Amendment lawsuits that are certain to turn up.
Doesn't Florida require that "uphold and defend the constitution" oath of office anymore?

Good thing our government is working on the "tough" issues. This is the typical "OMG I DEMAND ACTION NOW BECAUSE THAT OFFENDS ME" bullshit that is fucking up our country.

This should be the subject of legislation why???? I guess there is a dearth of serious issues in Florida. I wanted to get some of these and send them to Congress and the Senate. Capitol Hill needs these more than a truck.

Florida...who gives a hoot...they f**ked us in in the elections. If the policies of the past administrations come to fruition, they'll all be under water in 30-50 years. If I was them, I'd grab my (truck) nutz and hope they work as a flotation device when the time comes...the business of government should be something more than truck nutz...except maybe in a state that will allow rampant election fraud and judicial manipulation of results...so let 'em eat, sleep and suck nutz in the Florida legislature, or whatever it's called there...(BTW respect and real life jackets to the Floridians who voted for someone other than a Bush.)

BOOO! Dammit I live in Florida so I’m taking this story very personal. Let me tell you the first time I saw a pair of swinging truckticles I could not stop laughing. I can only hope that my children and grandchildren will have the opportunity to spit out their coffee and almost get in a wreck in a huge fit of laughter.

While I don't personally care for(i.e offended by) these novelty items, I think it's total bull clod to actually make them illegal. If someone wants to hang a pair of synthetic nuts off their vehicle, then let them damnit. If I can just not look at them if they offend me, then so can others.

I tried posting this link to an Op Ed article about the situation in Florida. While there is a huge budget deficit, while there are problems with insurance and education -- BS things like THIS take up lawmakers time durign the regular session.
