There they found a "body" wrapped in plastic tightly bound around the neck, midriff and ankles, with hair protruding from one end. Police investigators felt it from outside but never actually looked inside since they were following procedures by leaving the concealed "body" untouched for the police pathologists.
Extra officers were sent out to interview potential witnesses while media, which had been covering quake related drills on the 85th anniversary of the Great Kanto Earthquake, began focusing on this development as a major crime story. Due to press deadlines, the gruesome report ended up making the evening edition of the local newspaper.
The "victim" in the meantime was in custody of police pathologists by mid-afternoon for further examination. Upon opening the wrapping and expecting to find a human corpse, they discovered the body was actually a "sophisticated" life-sized sex doll wearing a blouse and skirt.
Red-faced police officials apologized for the trouble they caused and closed the book on the "case". Initially, they thought they might have been the victim of a prank but upon further investigation of the doll, found that it had been "used" heavily. They determined the doll's owner did not want to dispose of it with the rest of the garbage and instead dumped it in the forest. To the amusement of the gathered reporters, the police spokesperson had a stern message for the doll's owner by stating that it was an irresponsible thing to do.

Hee hee!
Of course, knowing Japan, someone's now going to pop up with a "recycle your sex toys" service. There's always room for a less embarrassing way to get rid of your toys without causing a scandal, right? And it's green, too!

I agree: Real Dolls are terrifying, but this looks like a hoax to me. Why would anyone wrap his (or her) sex doll up and throw it into the woods?

I can't believe somebody would wrap the body and dump it in a FOREST without realising that it could look a tad suspicious!

Do you think they felt relief or stupid when they realised it wasn't real?

Even after they found out the victim was inflatable, they still had to cover up the body.
