And this is the nation we "freed" from the taliban and someone is being put in jail for what amounts to a thought crime? Apparently it's not a crime to rape, burn and murder women but dare say anything about it and you're the criminal. Such utter bullshit patriarchy and religion are.

Why is anyone actually shocked about this? Do you think this is not going on in Iran as well?

He is lucky that he is only jailed for now. In most cases that would have been an immediate death sentence. But what do you expect, when a journalist decides to write a story about religion or politics in, in many countries that is a suicide wish.

Wow, someone is speaking up for women and they get jailed! Pretty extreme to be locked up for your opinion based article. Wouldn't that qualify as some type of dictatorship? The whole supposed reason we are over there anyway was to overthrow that, not that I agree, but wasn't that the point?

Thing here is, That is not America. It's Iraq. They play the game a lot different then we do. We have no right to judge them. That is why we are at war with them now. Mind your business America.

Pay attention to items like this. Completely absurd, this man should not be jailed for his opinions especially when its not blasphemous. These people are not free, while we still think we are. This is the way the American Government is headed, taking away one freedom at a time.

I don't know how to imagine that such a place exists that thoughts and questions of this nature would get someone tossed in jail. It's baffling.
