The only way to control what is in the foods you eat is to make it yourself.

That is the price you pay for convenience. Real cheesecake made at home would be much cheaper, but a lot more effort.

if you don't want to eat it then don't buy it!
People complain way too much about things like this... how processed foods are making people fat, causing health problems, when maybe we're missing the whole picture. People get fat when they eat too much of this crap.
If you have one piece of this cake is it going to make you obese? Probably not. If you go out to eat at any restaurant do you know exactly how they are cooking the food you order? Probably not.
Over-indulgence is more of a problem than the fact that a very small percentage of the ingredients are processed chemically.
It is still legal to buy fresh fruits and veggies, people. You can make this yourself if it bothers you so much. It is not that hard. - 3 years ago

What on earth is polysorbate 60?
I like how they explain what some of the weirder sounding chemicals are in the hope of softening the blow.

phillyharper:
from what I understand, polysorbate 60 is an emulsifier used to mix generally un-mixable ingredients (oil and water) and make these mixtures smooth and creamy.
traditionally in baking, eggs are the emulsifiers of choice, but because they spoil quickly, big business"baked goods" manufacturers developed chemical substitutes like soy-lecithin, mono and diglycerides and polysorbate 60. There's a well written book called "Twinkie Deconstructed" that explains all the crap big-agra business has decided to sell us. If you worry about food it's a worth while read.
