Highs of 2008

A Kansas City man found with 213 pounds of marijuana in his rented vehicle has been sentenced to three to six years in prison.

This man was pulled over November 6 for making an improper turn and failing to use his signal. The Officer became suspicious during the traffic stop and asked to search the 2008 Ford sport utility vehicle.

The marijuana had a street value of more than $200,000.

There is a lesson here: NEVER allow the police to search your car, especially if you have 213 pounds of pot in it! If he had refused, oh, they would have still searched the car, of course (remember all that freedom from unreasonable search we had doesn't apply any more since Reagan) - but then the evidence would NOT have been admissable! As a rule, I NEVER allow an officer to search my car - even if I'm clean! That way, if they ever do and DON'T find anything, I'm going to sue and be a test case, because the ones who always challenge searches always were caught with stuff! I will NEVER succumb to an unconstitutional search of my body or property.
