This poor moo cow got some custom skin art courtesy of mother nature, unfortunately for her, I don't think it was a design she'd chosen.

How do I avoid getting struck?
More than 1,000 people get struck by lightning every year in the U.S., and more than 100 of them die as a result of the strike. Lightning is not something to toy with. There are several precautions you can take to guarantee your safety in a storm.

Probably pointing out the obvious here but um... scars applied with the lightning method are generally not referred to as tattoos!

Sad..
A few days back I watched the Benjamin Button movie and when I saw the cow that man came to mind who kept saying how he was hit by lightning 7 times..that was funny..but this looks quite painful..The cow should have been put to rest.. - 3 years ago

'Worked as a head injury nurse and people have been struck by lightening mutiple times and lived...in fact it "runs' in families.. on the other hand being struck just once can kill. One time can also cause damage internally that is not exhibited right away: Like totally different personality traits, liver damages symptoms, or heart irregularities...so hope the cow is healthy once the burns heal.

I remember my father telling me about the "Green Man" during my childhood. He explained his version of the story as a man who had been repeatedly struck by lightning which turned his skin green... well after seeing this cow, I thought maybe the story was true and sure enough he's on wikipedia! My dad's version was a little off though...
Raymond Robinson (1910 - 1985) was a severely disfigured man whose years of nighttime walks made him into a figure of urban legend in western Pennsylvania. Robinson was so badly injured in a childhood electrical accident that he could not go out in public without fear of creating a public panic, so he went for long walks after dark. Local residents who would drive his road in hopes of meeting him called him "The Green Man" or "Charlie No-Face," and passed on tales about him to their children and grandchildren. Teenagers raised on these tales are sometimes surprised to discover that the mythic boogieman was a real man, well liked by his neighbors and his family.

looks like it is going to be made into a film, as it also says on the wiki page:
"A film about Robinson's life, directed by Mark Matthews, written and produced by Tisha York and Paul Chevalier, has now begun production. The film is a low-budget, independent film with a planned cost of less than $75,000, and its creators hope to exhibit it at film festivals."

Slick:
Bacon is a cut of meat taken from the sides, belly, or back of a pig that has been cured, smoked, or both. Meat from other animals, such as beef, lamb, chicken, goat or turkey, may also be cut, cured, or otherwise prepared to resemble bacon.
