9-year old abortion in Brazil causes controversey

    • I am glad the little girls' life was saved , a thanks to all the doctors and her mother for doing the right thing . I hope she has a happy rest of her life .

      God should have made sure that little girl didn't get pregnant. Or raped by her father. But he didn't. So now human law has to step in. I can't believe that guy said abortion is a more serious crime than rape.

      This is why when people say "God has a plan for everyone" I don't understand. God makes plans that involve incestuous rape, child pregnancy and publicly criticized abortions? Sounds more like a psychopath that a deity I'd want to worship.

    • This is upsetting to you? the concept of a nine-year old dying.. and not because of her fault.. .means nothing to you?.. the church has record of being retarded.. and this one of the examples..

      If the church is mad about one life dying.. then they should have accepted abortion because without it.. there would have been two lives dead...

    • which part - the whole thing is just horrible - but i do not feel a nine year old is prepared to birth a child not only mentally but physically- i believe that would be borderline torture. i think the real question is why the hell are nine year old girls getting pregnant- that is SICK. obvious rape victim. horrible.

      I think you are absolutely right, estee. And the article also states right off the bat that the girl's doctors said she could die in childbirth.

      It is baffling, yes, but some females can start their menstral cycle as young as nine years old (or even as late as eighteen). But being so young also means the body has not had time to fully develop the hips and pelvic bone to make room for giving birth. Ever hear the term "child bearing hips" in a description of a sexy lady? well, its no wonder women have wide hips, we need the room.

      Before modern medicine and technology, people did not understand things like this and it likely made no sense to them that "god" would allow a girl to start her period before she was physically able to carry a baby and give birth to it.

      People did not understand how the cycle works, obviously, and they did not understand how genes work.

      Now we do, and we can explain how cases like this create a situation where abortion is necessary.
