An 11 year old boy had to be rescued by firefighters after he tried to see if he would fit in a tumble dryer - and became wedged inside. Toby Sumner, who is 5ft 2in tall, climbed into the machine at his home feet first but was trapped half-in and half-out when the drum slipped.
After 10 minutes of quiet struggling, the embarrassed boy was forced to yell to his mother and stepfather for help.
They tried to take the front off the machine with a screwdriver, but the family called 999 as Toby became more distressed.
Firefighters arrived at the home in Penwortham, Lancashire, and stripped the machine down to the drum, then tipped it onto its back, enabling Toby to escape.
The tumble dryer, which was just 18 months old, was wrecked.
Toby has promised not to do it again - but how long do you think he was grounded for?

i would have left him in there for a few hours, fed him dinner while stuck inside, especially if i knew the thing would be ruined afterwards...deserves a go on the tumble dry cycle...
