How is your local paper reporting Jacko's demise?

I've started a new blog to try and catalogue how all of the different local papers are following in that long-held tradition of trying to tenuously link a major international news story to their local area. Check out the examples of the ridiculous, obscure and pointless coverage given to the Jacko reaction - and send me your own links too!

    • Good idea - I'll have a look in mine to see what they say.

However it's not just local papers that are guilty of making a story out of his death. This cartoon shows how most of larger media companies react when a famous person dies.

    • From Brighton's The Argus:

"A music producer who once shared dinner with Jackson also paid tribute.

Tony Macaulay, from Brighton, was at the Queen's Silver Jubilee celebrations in Glasgow in 1977.

He shared a taxi from a meal to the theatre with Michael Jackson and comic Ronnie Corbett.

Mr Macaulay, who wrote hits for a string of artists including Elvis Presley, Tom Jones and David Soul, said: "Jackson was incredibly shy. He was like a fish out of water.

"I don't think Ronnie Corbett even knew who he was."
