Five-legged dog headed to freak show

Precious, the five-legged Chihuahua puppy from Gastonia, was 12 weeks away from getting her extra leg amputated, thanks to an anonymous donor, when Calvin Owensby received a call from the owner of a Coney Island freak show Monday afternoon.

Now Precious will keep her fifth leg forever. She'll join a two-headed cow, a two-headed snake, and 25 other unusual animals in John Strong's Shows on Coney Island.

    • I agree with Bren 589, and i think unless the dog is in pain, it should be well looked after and loved for the rest of it's days by an owner who doesn't want to cash in on it's novelty.

    • That little dog deserves better then this. he needs a good home and not in some freak show. I could not imagine selling my pet. Its just so wrong.

    • 'freaks' are people who pay $ to look at a creature that is 'different' in order to feel normal. THAT is creepy.

ANIMALS ARE NOT OURS FOR ENTERTAINMENT... ESPECIALLY SOMETHING LIKE THIS. IT IS A HUMAN DISGRACE.

    • You know times are tough when you have to sell your five-legged puppy for $3000. I think I'd probably do the same thing, but part of me is still a little bit sad that Precious the puppy won't get to live a normal life with four legs.
