Journalists hunt for, imaginary, acid-spitting Mongolian death worm

It seems two journos have decided that the myth of the Mongolian death worm needs to come to an end, so armed with dynamite, the two men are headed to the Gobi Deser to find the 'fabled acid-spitting and lightning-throwing Mongolian death worm.'

Despite it never being documented, the two journalists are following up on the local's claims that the 'Allghoi Khorkhoi' or "intestine worm" does exist.

According to NZPA, the worm apparently jumps out of the sand and kills people by spitting concentrated acid or shooting lightning from its rectum over long distances.

Join me in wishing the journalists all the best of luck in finding it. I have a feeling they'll be looking for a very long time...

    • Hey this is awesome, it's like something from Nick Baker's weird creatures programme!! There are some crazy animals all over the world so it could jus be an embelished story of a real animal/insect/reptile.

    • This is like Nessie's long lost cousin! Nothing like a good folk tale to get people going. Whether or not this thing exists, they'll probably get enough material to put together a documentary about its possible existence.

Or they'll make something that resembles the 1990 hit film Tremors.
