After leaving an advert for a boyfriend at her college, thousands of eager potential boyfriends swarmed to the dormitory building where student Zhang Mengqian lives.
The University of Electronic Science and Technology of China in Chengdu has approximately 25 boys for every girl and decided to give each female student a card on which to write their wish.
In her message Miss Mengqian told potential suitors to come to her room on a certain day at a certain time and shout out her name, leading to the gathering of potential suitors.
