An elm tree in Wallingford, Conn. is attracting the attention of locals who believe they see the face of Jesus Christ in its bark.
The tree sits on the property of homeowner David Doolittle who says he didn’t notice the image until someone pointed it out. “Oh, it’s kind of weird,” he told WTNH News. “I walk through the hallway of the house. I can see Him looking in at me. It’s like every move you make, you know.”
He says the face of Jesus appeared a few days ago, and a low-hanging tree limb was in the same spot until the neighborhood association cut it down three or four years ago.
“I talked to a priest about it and he’s like, ‘images come and go, you don’t know what to make of it,’” he added: “But you believe what you believe.”
