It’s official. The black turtleneck that became Apple co-founder Steve Jobs’ trademark has taken on icon status – to such an extent that the company that made it can’t keep up with demand.

Minnesota clothing manufacturer St Croix has reported that sales of the black version of its classic techno-cotton mock pullover style 1990 have doubled since Jobs died on October 5th.

There’s even a tribute to Steve Jobs on the company homepage.

If all this sounds a bit mawkish then there is some good news: $20 from each sale of the $175 Jobs turtleneck will go to cancer charities to continue the fight against the disease.
