Last year was like a Prince concert, with purple emerging as a must-have colour. This year, designers tried to push blue as a new colour, but with a colour that’s already so ubiquitous, design houses like Marc by Marc Jacobs and Lacoste are shifting towards using strong primary colours like red and blue as highlights over classic summer colours like white and khaki.
