Crystal Renn Feels the Most Pressure From The Public & Media

AwakenedAesthetic
Once a “straight size” model, Crystal Renn eventually admitted to struggling with an eating disorder and penned a book appropriately titled, Hungry: A Young Model’s Story of Appetite, Ambition, and the Ultimate Embrace of Curves as she made the ever-difficult (some would say “impossible”) transition from straight-size model to plus-size model. Throughout this plus-size period, she empowered thousands and thousands of girls to appreciate what they’ve got, and stand up for the right to have their own beauty ideals.

After several successful gigs (in nearly all of them, her plus size body glorified like a novelty) -- including walking the runway for Chanel last year -- Renn’s weight again shifted. She lost a noticeable amount of weight, and the public’s reaction was fiery. They were pissed. Where did their mascot for beauty and love at every size go? Back down to an “acceptable” size 2?

Ford Modeling Agency, Renn’s current representation, has featured a special interview with the model where she discusses the weight shifts, and how they’ve affected her outlook on health and her own body. (Video and excerpts included in the post.)
