I finally got the go-ahead from the Dr. Finklestein's PR folks to proceed with the story. Dr. Finklestein has written a book called the "Fattening of America." I'm checking it out to see if we can maybe do a couple stories related to the book in addition to this one.

I'm trying to produce the TV segment for this story. The status is: I contacted Eric Finklestein, the Dr. who authored the study. He is checking with his PR team about whether he can participate in an interview. He hasn't gotten back to me in a few days, so we might need to produce the story without him.

Would $20 per pound really be the tipping point?

They don't pay enough in the study, $7 to $14 per percentage point of weight lost. Seems you'd be investing more than you'll be losing. However, if it were $20... then we can talk ;)
