Oil Hits 92 A Barrel... On To Iran!
http://www.dawn.com/2007/10/23/top6.htm
And according to reports, oil output will drop to half by 2030. So unless we begin to demand alternate energies and more efficient fuel standards along with innovations that do not require fossil fuels to run our cars not in ten years but NOW, not only will society break down due to the continued wars over this resource as population continues to rise, but it is also predicted that around that time at current pace we will be seeing wars over an even more precious resource: water. No wonder Bush bought a huge tract of land in Paraguay right next to the Guarini Acquifer and with a military base not far from it. The "leaders" of this world already know what is coming and they are getting theirs first. So for those who say only government can solve this climate crisis, you are wrong. Unless people themselves work to make governments less corrupt and do what is necessary to bring us into the future, they won't on the whole do it as long as not doing it is more profitable for them and their benefactors. I truly do believe gas could go up to five dollars or more a gallon in this country and people would still continue to do exactly as they are doing now while bitching the whole way to the gas station to fill up their SUVs to go to the mall... never realizing that they have within them the power to force these companies to either do right or force them into bankruptcy. I don't know, sometimes I wonder if seeing it all fall apart is exactly what we need to wake us the hell up... even if that would then mean it is really too late to do anything about it.

According to an ex Executive at BP global peak oil production happened in 2000 there are more holes in the ground and we are extracting less oil than in 2000 and the Arab oil reserves are being reduced every year but they state increases in reserves so they can pump more out to try and stabilize the price. There is a great movie to watch called "Crude Awakening" and we may only have 13 to 15 years of crude oil left in the ground at the current rate of increased consumption.

JanforGore, I think a strong voice announcing now might be the match that lights the fire in America to get the conversation going. Nothing can be done about oil or anything else until the conversation is changed. Peak oil and the water shortage are conversations that need to be talked about. Unfortunately, unless something phenominal happens, the conversation won't change. Mainstream media spins what they are told by this Administration. And I do believe we need Al Gore in the White House to lead us in a direction that will get everyone involved.
As far as George W. getting in again, I live in Cleveland, Ohio we have election officials that were put in jail for crimes relating the the '04 election. Did you read about the votes that were destroyed against a Court Order. The election was stollen or they would not have needed to destroy the evidence.
And who is in the White House is important, we need to work with the World to move forward. We need someone who is willing to have a dialog with other World Leaders. We are not in this World alone. - 4 years ago

To explain the reason for this " war" and its corrolation to oil one only need know:P N A C ( Project for a New American Century)
It is what is driving this war which in the minds of those who are the architects of it has just begun. - 4 years ago

How is Al Gore or anyone else announcing NOW going to get Bush out quicker?Constitutionally the only way now is impeachment, which I am actually all for, but it looks on the whole as if Congress and people in this country on the whole aren't. Perhaps we then should have worked harder to keep him from getting back a second time instead of dropping the ball. Also, what does that have to do with the price of oil today and the behavior of those who continue to consume it at such a rapacious pace even knowing what their consumption is doing to this planet both environmentally and in enabling wars? This is coming and it doesn't matter who you have sitting in that White House. And Mr. Gore's work on the climate crisis has exposed plenty and is what will hopefully wake US up to begin making demands to our representatives on all levels regarding fuel standards, getting alternate fuels in our tanks NOW, regarding conservation, regarding the corporatization of our resources, and regarding what I see as an impending enslavement of the poor in this world. There was a reason why I mentioned Bush buying that land in Paraguay... those with the means, the military, and the money will be doing this in order to turn the screws on the poor when resources start to really dwindle. Corporatization and privitization of not only oil and other resources, but particularly water gives those who have it at a critical time when population and demand are exceding supply a huge amount of control....and people usually die as a result of those conditions. It isn't going to be pretty if we continue to sit and wait for who we believe can get us out of something that I personally don't believe we will be able to get out of unless people enmasse start speaking out. We are reaching peak oil, peak water, and from my estimation far surpassed peak morality a long time ago. That does not bode well for us or this planet regardless of who sits at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, which as may surprise some is not the center of the universe. And we can start a conversation on their deeds as we have a great forum for it now, thanks to Al Gore and Joel Hyatt.

I had hoped George W. bought the land in Paraguay for when he goes into exile. If Al Gore would announce his run for President NOW, we could move Bush out quicker. Al Gore could expose his misdeeds now! Start a conversation about how America is being misled. We need his voice now.
Paraguay would be a good place for George W. and his neocons buddies could be his guests. Any place but here. - 4 years ago
