Bringing ...attention.. to an important cause, Hayden stepped it up in Japan this week, protesting commercial fishing that kills hundreds of dolphins each year.

"Hayden Panettiere, star of TVs hit series Heroes, paddled out on behalf of Save The Whales Again! She expressed that she felt the spirit of the dolphins who had been driven into the killing cove over the last 400 years.

'We had a moment of silence for all the dolphins that had been killed here,' said Panettiere, who uses her celebrity to protect dolphins and whales. 'It was highly emotional. I wished for peace and for no more pain at this beautiful yet tragic cove'."

    • Good for her. I could go protest the "scientific" study of whales in Japan, but no one would notice. I'm just Me.

She goes surfing, the world collectively gets all happy and exclaims "WOW, Hayden the Hero for the Whales! Go Go Hayden!, and she's sexy too!"

      btw, thanks Hayden.

    • So, thanks to a teenage cutie in a Bikini more people know that Japanese fishermen yearly kill hundreds of dolphins needlessly.
She could be using her assets for less socially responsible causes.
      Good job, Hayden.

    • I don't think she's a hero, but AGAIN, I think we should encourage celebrities to use their status and wealth for something other than getting into high-profile clubs. They should be praised and even used to further good causes.

    • Guys, she's not really a Hero! She is a teenager who isn't a raging drunk like her awful BritLohaParis counterparts. "It was highly emotional. I wished for peace and for no more pain at this beautiful yet tragic cove" SHE WENT SURFING!

    • I guess everything has to be dated for something now a days, not that what she's doing isn't noble, it's just there are more horrible things happening to other species that aren't getting enough attention, but you know.

    • i agree uckfay- i think she really did step it up! japan's fishing practices and commercial whaling have to be curbed if not entirely stopped- it's definitely awesome what she's doing, but you have to admit- what she said, was rather amusing.

    • I think we need to be supportive of celebrities who take the time out of their busy lives to stand up for a cause. We should praise them, not make fun of them. It would be very very easy for them to simply not give a hoot about anybody or anything.
