The common denominator is expanding and entrenching the role of the insurance giants who are largely responsible for the current morass by transforming our nation's health from a system that delivers care to one that has become a funnel for higher profits, usually made by denying care. It's time to stop expecting the insurers and the market will solve a crisis that continues to financially benefit them. Only one solution guarantees healthcare for everyone, ends insurance industry interference with care, and actually does share responsibility with fair share costs on employers, government, and individuals alike.

    • www.healthcare-now.org has a link to the bill, and so does www.pnhp.org Healthcare-Now! and Physicians for a National Health Program are on the road with a road show now, along with representatives from the California Nurses Association, co-author Rep. John Conyer's office, United Steel Workers and others, showing the movie SICKO and promoting HR-676 simultaneously. They made a great 17-minute documentary on dvd about the bill, but I don't know if it's available online. Maybe check with Conyer's office about that? www.house.gov or ph.202-224-3121. If you like it, please talk to your elected representatives (same number and web site). Maybe take some people with you if you go in person? Also listen to the 45-minute in-depth interview with Lee Einer (insurance industry whislte-blower from the movie SICKO) at www.honestmedicine.com if you have time. It's a real eye opener.

    • Nothing could possibly be more "pro life" than health care. Dennis is the only presidential candidate so far to have the courage to stand up to the moneyed interests that are keeping us from creating an affordable, sustainable, moral health care system. How long will it take the rest of the Democratic Party to recognize this issue as the potential gold mine of voters that it is, for generations to come? There are none so blind as those who will not see beyond campaign contributions. Hillary and Barak are blowing as much smoke and mirrors on this issue as Republicans. Thank God we still have a few true souls representing us who, like you, have not sold out the good of the whole (and our chance to keep what is left of our Democracy) for the welfare of the few. As voters, we really should not allow "most campaign funds raised" or "best corporate media coverage" to determine who our candidates are, at least not if we want to be voting for our own best interests. Please let us vote instead to send a message that needs to be heard by both parties. Our votes are the only thing that can possibly keep our elections, government and each other free from being ruled by moneyed interests alone.

    • Dennis you are a hero to so many of us for your actions in Congress on Tuesday. You have so much support as I am sure you are aware. I just wanted to say thank you for your courage and for doing the job you were elected to do so well. All the best and great to see you here.
