Side effects may include: treating the symptoms (not the disease or individual) while creating new and worse ailments.

Apparently Merck is refusing to pay patients who live outside the US. Sure, no problem selling their drug all over the world, 400,000 were on it in the UK and 300 are taking action. But when it comes time to pay for damages, I guess they prefer to sit in court as long as possible before they're made to pay.
