Noise pollution is a human health issue that is adversely affecting the lives of millions of people throughout the world.

Noise pollution is nerve shattering to adults and frightening to young children. People continuously exposed to noise experience elevated stress levels, mood swings, hypertension, depression, lost sleep and productivity. In children, it results in slowed learning.

We are a coalition of citizens, elected representatives, law enforcement professionals, educators, researchers, students and activists from the United States and abroad. We are dedicated to combating this urban blight that is ruining communities everywhere.

If you are experiencing a noise pollution problem, we can help you. Sign up at Yahoo! Groups NoiseOFF and learn how other citizens are working to reduce the problem in their own community. You are not alone.

    • I have been studying the urban noise issue for 8 Years now, Oh! My GOD! It is going so fast, it is going to be a decade very soon. One point we will have to admit soon or later...Some Humans created a very chaotic civilization. It is a system of killing, slavering and punishment. Good for masochists and sadists but not for those that do not want either. Loneliness and lack of physical stimulation can lead people to want noise or accept noise as a stimulant, just like a drug. These are signs of sensitiveness loss.

    • Actually it's not but I totally simpathise. My bedroom hangs out over the street. I live in a major city and a trash truck loads the cans about 6 feet from my head every night. That would drive most people crazy but I have the feeling that silence might make me crazy now....
