    • I don't understand how in the world the carbon footprint could be LESS than before. Almost 50,000 people travel (in their cars, trucks, vans, trailers, RVs etc) to the middle of the desert, with 24-7 generator-powered electricity to participate in essentially a huge rave with ridiculously large sound-systems and art installations that are ignited with massive quantities of fuel...how could this be deemed eco-friendly?

Just because you pick up your trash does not make this an earth-friendly event. Just because you use bio-fuel doesn't make it OK to waste it.

I went to burning man, and was disappointed, its just another big party. Just like any other party, except people want to give you stuff, which is cool. I dig the gifting culture, I just couldn't handle the hypocracy that was the "green man". I know there are regulars who think the theme is BS.
