Wind Dam

Enormous electricity-generating kites may be the future of green power. The wind dam concept is almost the same as a hydro-electric dam: Capture massive amounts of moving air and funnel it into a turbine. Plus, they look cool. The first of its kind may be coming to Russia next year.

    • Like land sailing for energy... I love it! Gorgeous aesthetically as well. I love when something new and totally unexpected and yet so totally obvious comes to light. How many other simple. beautiful ideas are waiting just beyond our noses to be discovered?

    • placement could make it beautiful, a cityscape with several would be a nice addition, but i am not sure i would want to see it in a wildlife preseve. it would have to be massive to contribute substiantually.

      Much cooler than wind turbines...you agree?
