My old housemate was dyslexic, and he's a walking example of all of the things Mirimy mentions, although he struggled with writing and reading, his art work was amazing, he did Business Management and could walk his way through 'Pi' with a swagger that showed the numbers who was boss!
I guess a lot of people write dyslexia off as a lack od intelligence, when really it's those who can see that intelligence is as multi-layered as 15 tier wedding cake!
