    • Eventually, Insurers hope to pay lobbyists and curry enough favor with regulators and legislators to be able to have a "short form" application for all types of insurance. If they could get away with it, they would ask only ONE question.

      That question?

Will you ever file a claim against the coverage in this policy you are buying?

A yes answer gets you no policy and a no answer gives you the privilege of paying them your hard-earned money with no real expectation for those premiums to ever cover anything.

This is only one of the reasons that exciting research into "marker genes" that would allow people to know if they are more likely to develop certain forms of disease also needs to be strictl controlled so that it isn't exploited by insurers.

Their business model has gone from "spreading" to risk to avoiding ANY risks.

With the amount of money and influence and trade association whining they pay for every year, I look for them to eventually figure out how to predict disease and then to avoid insuring any of those ordianry Americans.

Never lose sight of the fact that their God is the bottom line and that they pay people in their claims departments incentives of various types to DENY claims.
