Wow, I sure got an education from this Cracked article. Who knew that too much nutmeg would send you to Tripping Hell. The best part of the story is the Photoshop work -- Hillary's eyes and the clown-face baby both scared the heck out of me!

    • datura is jimson weed and is best left alone, unless you have an experenced guide. my ancestors had 3 classes of medicine men; rattle snake, bear and datura. eating seeds can trick you to overdose as the amount of belladona varies greatly from one "thorn apple" to another. gringing seeds from different thorn apples and making a tea is less dangerious but the belladonna high isn't a fun high. you can have amazing hallucinations (with twisting cramps) or you might not be able to tell if you are awake or dreaming for many days(this stage is close to death and usually requires an attendant for your toilet 'cause your not getting out of bed). the neet thing is your irises dialate completely and you look like an alien for quite a while (ladies of spain used belladonna from night shade to make their eyes large and inviting, hence the name, pretty lady-bella donna).

    • California Red Poppy, is legal to grow...

      Datura Innoxia....

      Hawaiian Baby Woodrose (Argyreia nervosa)

      Morning Glory seeds; Convolvulaceae

      Lobelia Inflata

Some of theses require further refinement, while Datura Innoxia must be handled with great care, no further refinement is needed...

    • there is a reason toxic is the root of intoxicate. i've had great times with mother nature and others not so good. i suggest if your going to try some of this stuff, there are better ones listed in books from the 60's.
the best ones take time to prepare like; cabbage heart opium, banana peal hash and morning glory lsd. avoid jimson weed and other belladona plants.
almost any substance has a toxic level and there is a point (hopefully) before death that one becomes altered. best to stay with the popular ones they have a wider range between tripping and ye ole dirt nap.
spiritual protection can be a good idea, i suggest the worship of lord shiva as it is his realm. the followers of shiva sit on the ganges smoking ganga, naked but for a coating of ash from funeral pyres, they go into 3 day trances traveling from planet to planet.

    • is the current.com girl's voice really a text-to-speech conversion or are they just trying to make it sound like one. (?)

If it is synthesized and Current does this to save time by automating the development of the clips then that's pretty cool.

If not then it gets kind-of annoying after a while. They should hire Majel Barrett. ;)

    • that was hysterical, although aside from the fish heads I had heard of all of those, the writing and sarcastic commentary was what i found to be funny

    • A nutmeg high is definitely not worth having to ingest around 20 grams of the vile stuff. I learned this the hard way when I was a stupid high schooler looking for a way to get off that wouldn't cause me to fail a drug test.

People do get high from poppy seeds. A simple google search can show you how to make poppy tea. The morphine/codeine content of poppy seeds can vary wildly, but if enough seeds are used, the concoction can be quite potent. There has been at least one reported death involving poppy seed tea.
