Can it stop at the liqour store and will it go through the hood? Or better yet, can we pimp it out? If we're going to be fly, diversify for all and not the few who can afford it.

It will be difficult to graffiti something moving at 200 mph, but I bet Banksy could do it.

It'll be way cheaper to ride this between SF and LA than a plane - especially as fuel costs rise. Hell, it'll be cheaper than driving at that rate too!

It seems as if all the good political news of America are coming from California; is it time that I moved there?

If you believe in democracy, social progression, personal liberty, a strong economy, and a generally warm and pleasant climate then yes. Better get here now before housing prices go back up. And oh yeah, you do have to live with the 13% FEDERAL SALES TAX. Thanks a lot USA.

It makes so much sense! The Eisenhower Highway System was incredibly shortsighted when it was put in place. Now it seems like cities are so entrenched in freeways and cars as transportation networks that it'll take $8/gallon gas to change perceptions. Instead of simply increasing fuel efficiency and building electric cars, our transportation network should be diverse and take into account the massive size of our country. I've wanted to take Amtrak from Portland to Michigan, but the route is slow (55 hours), and more expensive than driving or flying! ($475 roundtrip). I'd be thrilled to see a major investment in rail networks throughout our country.

I agree, the California Bullet Train and other rail transportation systems would be a worthy pursuit...once we get out of debt (thanks Ahnald. Give up politics and do Conan the King, please!).

I would be really proud if this passed. It would send a powerful signal to Washington, and perhaps start a watershed of smart, progressive transportation planning for our country. We can't afford for it to fail.
