How could 66% of the voters think this is not newsworthy? Do you not shower? Do you use an organic hemp canvas shower curtain? Do you know where I can get one?
I guess those glass sliding shower doors have the last laugh, huh?

According to this article, "The restrictions take effect on Jan. 1, 2009."
Until then, I'm assuming that products have phthalates, unless they state otherwise.
The law also seems to focus on products for children under three years of age, important of course, because....."Phthalates are used in many products for young children, including teething rings, toys, and soft plastic books. They are added to improve the flexibility of polyvinyl chloride and to bind fragrances in baby lotions, soaps, and shampoos."
A shower curtain might not fall under this law, but even if the child doesn't shower, the air will be toxic as this off gases, and the law should apply.
...Meanwhile, at
PHTHALATES-R-US PLASTICS INC:"Hmm, what are we going to do with all this extra phthalate in 2009?"
"Well, we could add extra to our line of shower curtains!?"

California outlawed phthalates in toys in 2007. Hopefully the law include shower curtains.
