Wait - Dubai? Isn't that a Muslim nation? Don't they want to murder us? What do they care about green energy production?
I'm confused. Aren't they just plotting the next attack? They are Arabs right?

you people jumping all over the Dubai bandwagon obviously don't know much about the place. The overwhelming majority of the population there lives under greater government oppression than any US citizen could ever imagine. It is only a nice place to live if you are rich.

Not true, I've been there and have relatives there. It's a muslim society, they don't live the same way we do but there are many foreigners there who simply love the place. My only complaint was the heat.

I have read that because of their Muslim government they have zero tolerance for gays, pot, and hippies.
What is your take on that?

J. Craig Venter is American. So is Steve Jobs, Bill Gates, and Oprah. Don't be so hard on yourself everybody, we still kick ass. Catch up, Dubai.

And why should Dubai have such a thing and not the USA? Will this kind of rotating tower violate some sort of zoning law?
If it is a good thing, then it is a good thing. Can we not duplicate and improve on the design? If someone can make money by doing this on US soil, then go ahead and do it.
Donald Trump, are you listening?

This is great, now will they stop getting rich off oil? I doubt it.

Hold on.You can't just jump on the Dubai bandwagon yet.Not only is it a corporate state where only 1 in 4 residents are citizens but also it is the only place more wasteful of energy than America.

Every time I hear about Dubai its because they've built some amazing building. I wish more innovative buildings like this would be built in America.

If we adapted this kind of clever engineering to the average home, we'd definitely be much happier Americans.

True, but we'd probably only be able to implament this into high-rises and apartment homes - as for everyone else on the ground, I think they'd prefer their humble abodes to stay stationary.
(Although, I'd get a good kick out of a 'spinning' bungalow! Or even a whole steet of them! Heck, I'd pay money to see that!)

Yeah. I was going to comment about them having oil riches for this kind of amazing feat.
It's so fantastic in theory. I can't wait to see it in action. I've always wanted to go there.

It's not their fault for charging other countries to use up their natural resources. If they were charging the money they do and *not* coming up with amazing feats of wealth and research and engineering, then I would think they would be wasteful and squandering their amazing opportunity.

I'm betting you really like Bush and Chaney and the NRA and that you dislike people of color and that you own numerous guns, that you hunt and kill animals and that you drive a large vehicle.
