This is documentary evidence of an experiment testing just that, carried out on British marines in 1964...

For further experimentation: We've secretly put LSD in all the drinking water for EVERYONE ON EARTH for the next 2 weeks...
Let's see if anyone notices... Or all war on earth suddenly becomes unsustainable. :P

Seems a little risky to have them all running around with guns while tripping on LSD. I have par-taken in my own experiment with LSD and my cheeks were sore the next day from laughing. They sure do not need the guns, because they are not in a killing mode- Know what I'm saying?

It's not like they draw weapons from the armory and they have rounds in them. And it's not like you have to have rounds on you in order to do something like this, or even carry a gun around.

How many hits were they given? also flashbacks are highly over exaggerated and rarely occur. i would not worry about them.

I feel sad for the man who is, "more severely affected," than the others. Very sad. But I didn't know it made everyone else giggle... Dangerous LSD. I wouldn't want to gamble on being, "more severely affected." Also, what's up with flashbacks? What if that poor guy gets flashbacks for the rest of his life!?

flash backs are way over played they hardly affect anybody also i have dosed multiple times and so have my pals in rather large groups and everybody became a better person after or was completely the same so i highly recommend LSD not dangerous at all just remember to control the drug don't let the drug control you and all will be fine.. dont plan anything either

By more severely effected, it means tripped harder, which is not necessarily a bad thing at all. LSD is actually one of the safest drugs, it is non-addictive, it is essentially impossible to overdose on, and psychological problems are very rare. LSD is just given a bad reputation by anti drug organizations and it's legal status.

I was wondering about that myself since I was suprised to see a post I commented on a year ago pop up again especially about something that happened 50 years ago.
Maybe they are running out of stuff to show because so little is being made now? That certainly points out a pressing need for new content to be created.

It doesn't necessarily have to be a bitch to come down since Timothy Leary did a lot of research to avoid it.
http://www.erowid.org/library/books_online/psychedelic_experience/psychedelic_ex...
"A psychedelic experience is a journey to new realms of consciousness. The scope and content of the experience is limitless, but its characteristic features are the transcendence of verbal concepts, of space-time dimensions, and of the ego or identity. Such experiences of enlarged consciousness can occur in a variety of ways: sensory deprivation, yoga exercises, disciplined meditation, religious or aesthetic ecstasies, or spontaneously. Most recently they have become available to anyone through the ingestion of psychedelic drugs such as LSD, psilocybin, mescaline, DMT, etc. Of course, the drug does not produce the transcendent experience. It merely acts as a chemical key—it opens the mind, frees the nervous system of its ordinary patterns and structures."
As you return you see spread out before you the world, your former life, a planet full of fascinating objects and events. Each aspect of the return trip can be a delightful discovery. Soon you will be descending to take your place in worldly events. The key to this return voyage is simply this: take it easy, slowly, naturally. Enjoy every second. Don't rush. Don't be attached to your old games. Recognize that you are in the re-entry period. Do not return with any emotional pressure. Everything you see and touch can glow with radiance. Each moment can be a joyous discovery.

Ummm yea Tia_Corrie, thats complete propaganda. LSD does not make your brain swell, and it doesnt bleed. That is called a hemorrhage and if LSD did that then people would not take it. And that isn't the reason you get high off of :LSD: either. LSD so closely resembles Serotonin, a nuerotransmitter in your brain, that your brain mistakes it as Serotonin and begins using the LSD as a transmitter in your brain, so your "trip" is your brain using a different chemical to process thought memory emotion feelings etc etc. If your brain did any bleeding, you would have massive brain damage...but then again, maybe you do, which is why your rehash old propaganda because "thats what you heard."

Don't have any experience with LSD? It's actually a rather benign drug. It has a very strong psychosomatic effect, but mostly goes away after a few hours. I know people that have done lots of LCD and they are perfectly normal.

perhaps benign in terms of being a poison, but surely not compared to the effects on the psyche. they range from profound, obscure or insane.

This is crazy. The government giving soldiers acid??? I'm not sure I would like to be secretly dosed by the government, then again at least I wouldn't be paranoid about the "man" finding out about my mental state. The soldiers looked like they were having fun. It's refreshing to see soldiers smile, even if it was nearly forty years ago.

That's what got Timothy Leary demonized by the admin and Gordon Liddy to get him thrown in jail because he dared speak out against the CIA program of trying to use LSD for mind control.
The reason why it doesn't work is because LSD depends a lot on the mindset of the person and the setting it's used in. So if you're given it by cynical people in a place where people are out to get you then you're going to end up with self destructive paranoid delusions.
If you use it as Timothy Leary recomended by a therapist that you've built up trust with in an enviroment that is stress free then you can end up letting go of a lot of the blockages and behaviors that can hold you back.

This wasnt isolated to britain. During the 60's the US army conducted similar experiments. Also the CIA's use of the drug became rampant. They would kidnap random artists in San Fransisco and observe the affects. LSD became so prevalent in the CIA that at a christmas party some agents apparently dosed the punch bowl! haha now that would be a funny government gathering

all types of soldiers have been used as guinea pigs since time began. the public never finds out about these things until the victims have bad side effects or some unexplained illness consumes them and their families, then they have a hard time getting help from the jerks who used them. it sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
