Wired.com's Alexis Madrigal is live-blogging the unveiling of California's plan to cut greenhouse gas emissions 30% by 2020.

If you think about how big California's economy is... that's INCREDIBLE. It would take us back to 1990 levels. It's cool to see something so ambitious from, er, the government.

And it's interesting to dig into the details of this plan, as it could become the template for a national version -- if we get a president who's into, you know, saving the planet.

    • I first read "GHG Emissions" as "HGH Emissions", perhaps imagining a world where Governor Schwarzenegger mandates state-wide steroid reductions.

Seriously though, am I crazy for having never seen Greenhouse gases shortened to GHG?

    • Hmm. Maybe I should have replaced that pie chart with a picture of Natalie Portman or something. It's a bit dry, huh?
