If they can store more milk in the grocery store, then that means most of the milk in the grocery store will expire sooner. Either the grocery store will sell a whole bunch of milk that's ready to expire, or it's going to have to order less on a more frequent basis.
I hate going to the grocery store and the only milk I can buy expires in less than a week.

What's wrong with bags of milk? I never really got the whole carton thing. The bags are more environmental and easier to pour. As the Mies said: "Less is more".

I remember when my father would bring bags of milk home from where he worked. He would take the same bag of milk bag to work when we needed more milk get it cleaned and refilled. Bags of milk are really simple to pour from, too. It has a little spout that you just squeeze and ta-da. =]
Besides, it's time for those old jugs to change anyway. They aren't refrigerator friendly. They could just add a little spout on the new containers. You wouldn't even have to take it out of the fridge.

Well, there are worst things going on that your container, check out this link here on current.com, read up what they are doing to the inside of the container, (the genetically engineered milk) who cares what the container looks like when your are drinking a product which is banned in most other industrialized nations due to the health risks to humans and harm to the animals, Monsanto’s genetically engineered bovine growth hormone (rBGH or rBST) is still injected into dairy cows in the US to increase milk-production.

Is this supposed to be a negative thing? I LIKE the new containers... They don't fall over as easily in my fridge and I have never had a problem pouring milk from them...
My grandmother doesn't like the design because she has a hard time lifting the jug so she keeps smaller sealable containers in her fridge and has my uncle transfer the milk to the 2 smaller containers.
This is actually a BETTER thing to do because nutrients are lost the more the Milk is exposed to light and air. So when you only expose half a gallon at a time to air and different temp's, you have kept your 2nd half more nutritionally viable then if you kept opening up the wide mouthed jug.

c'mon, engineers.
It shouldn't be too hard to design a milk bottle with a more user-friendly pour. - 3 years ago
