Natural Gas Supplies

Quoted from article.
"Given U.S. production levels in 2002 and the National Petroleum Council's estimate for available domestic resources, there is enough natural gas in the United States to meet over 75 years of domestic production."
End quote.

If the U.S. produces all of the natural gas it uses, why is it so expensive?
It goes to show that even if ANWR and offshore oil drilling is opened up, the price of oil/gas WILL NOT GO DOWN.
The price of anything is driven by supply and demand. If the demand is up, more people are needed to supply that demand, therefore the price goes up.
Or the supply can be controlled, as in diamond market, to keep the price high.
I know, it has been done in the oil industry and others and it may or not be happening in the oil market today.
But the fact is, even if we destroy more of our land, it will not make one bit of difference in the price we now pay to gas up our cars.
