States approve compact to protect Great Lakes

I can only imagine how much more it would screw up our ecosystem if the world eventually depleted this resource. It may smell like dead fish, but Lake Michigan is too important to lose!

If you are thirsty move here we have plenty of room and with global warming it's not so cold any more and the winters are shorter. But we do have winter!

This is a good idea because our fresh water is running out. We have already depleted our aquifers to very low levels.

Lake Superior is far superior. I'm vacationing on the shores of it right now, and it is divine. Absolutely gorgeous. I'm very glad it is being protected.

I can't believe really want water that is that polluted. I won't eat anything from Lake Michigan nor can I see drink that stuff either. Yuk!

In related news, the southern states have signed an agreement to prevent sharing their warm weather with northern states.

This is some good long-term thinking by the Great Lakes' states.

I can't imagine going on water rations. Even though I think such a thing is retarded (being on a 75% water planet) I fully understand about salt to freshwater process and how it takes a while and it's not as simple as waving a wand. I understand. It's baffling that such a thing is possible and yet oil is so important and we don't drink that.

I believe that the oil companies should be forced, in some capacity, to convert saltwater to freshwater. They have the ability and the means and it will be them giving back to the "community".

Don't sell or commersalize the Great Lakes Water. The corporations would like to bottle and sell it and I hope this stops this from going any farther than it already has. I also hope the Great Lakes will deny any re-licensing of botteling the water to Corporations already there. It is about time action was taken. By the way I think the drinking water in the Great Lakes Area is great tasting. You are drinking it in some botteled water already weather or not you know it.

I like keping our water for ourselves. Besides, if we didn't not only would the water run out but also think of the amount of pipeline it would require which would destroy the environment across the country so everyone would complain about that. WOOHOO GO GREATLAKES STATES.

Hahaha DAMN RIGHT. It's our water get your own. Seriously though this has already been in place weve been denying people our water for years, its just official now. On a side note you probably wouldnt want to drink this water anyway.
