The observations used sensors lowered down holes drilled into the quake zone. The team says we are a long way from routine tremor forecasts but the latest findings hold out hope that such services might be possible one day.

This would be great even to have a ONE minute warning. I lived through the Northridge earthquake in 1994, and that was the scariest experience of my life.

We are all expecting this thing right, sooner or later it will happen and then what, well why not speed up the proccess by ussing Nicholi Tesla's invention of the amplifying of the movement of the earth and little by little have the earht settle to where it needs to go.
I know what your thinking, by speeding the proccess will it cause a violent reaction, well we can either try it or wait for this big thing to surprise us and than have way to many casualties.
Think about it, will it be green light or red light. - 4 years ago

It would be pretty hard to invent an instrument to predict earthquakes. Reason is because the plates are constantly moving every single day. So, there may be a misunderstanding between the plates moving and a sudden shake of the Earth. We COULD predict the earthquake through stress in the Earth. But, by the time they announce their prediction, an earthquake would probably be in action.
