Anyhow, I thought I would post it since Global Warming is so "hot". Here they say we actually had thicker and more ice this year than in the past... Very interesting.
Personally I hope that neither ice nor floods come. But there is only so much one nation can do. Until the world is on board, we have to just trust in .... dare I say God? (don't hate me).
Enjoy!
Forget global warming: Welcome to the new Ice Age
Lorne Gunter, National Post Published: Monday, February 25, 2008
Snow cover over North America and much of Siberia, Mongolia and China is greater than at any time since 1966.
The U.S. National Climatic Data Center (NCDC) reported that many American cities and towns suffered record cold temperatures in January and early February. According to the NCDC, the average temperature in January "was -0.3 F cooler than the 1901-2000 (20th century) average."
Last month, Oleg Sorokhtin, a fellow of the Russian Academy of Natural Sciences, shrugged off manmade climate change as "a drop in the bucket." Showing that solar activity has entered an inactive phase, Prof. Sorokhtin advised people to "stock up on fur coats."
He is not alone. Kenneth Tapping of our own National Research Council, who oversees a giant radio telescope focused on the sun, is convinced we are in for a long period of severely cold weather if sunspot activity does not pick up soon.
It's way too early to claim the same is about to happen again, but then it's way too early for the hysteria of the global warmers, too.
***Please reference the above article, as most would not fit in this space. Explains cycles that the earth goes thru including mini cycles. I found it very interesting.***
Thanks for reading.

Thank you!
Even my boyfriend parrots the global warming stuff just because it's the "cult of reality".... omg really, I have no idea why.
Maybe I should disown him. (winks and smiles)

I have done a bit of research.
No matter what one does, we cannot effect that solar cycles of the sun.Global warming is being used to induce fear and make people panic and do something "green" so we all won't die.
Known fact: we should preserve our earth. Not for global warming, but to let humanity, animals and God enjoy it.
Yeah I did say God. What of it?

That's the truth, maybe we should be researching how to harness or control solar cycles?

all i know is that when i was in connecticut about 5 years ago. IT was the coldest winter in about 100 years. There would be morning where feet of snow had fallen during they night. Global warming in my opinion is a political movement aimed at increasing our taxes (just ask gore about his carbon taxes) Take away our freedoms and take down the people liberals have hated for 60 years.

OMG what if you are right!
I think global warming is a way to control the people with fear.

Did you read the entire article from the link? The latest recordings and research show an increase in ice, not the decrease that everyone is freaking from--and it is happening NOW. I think the pod they did on it was 2 years ago in 2006.
Al Gore did a huge thing on global warning and he owns this place. So I am not shocked this story is being buried.
No wonder no one is interested in research that is done now in 2008.
Crazy eh? Green is still good, but it's not going to impact sun cycles that impact the way our planet does it's thing. But they say that humans effect is a drop in the bucket when it comes to climate change via sun cycles.
Everyone knows we need to take action to preserve life on our earth to be able to sustain life, and the way we handle trash, our rivers and oceans, keeping them clean, that is all still vital for human life. But it's NOT about Global WARMING, it's about respecting our lands, our earth and not killing ourselves with chemicals, etc.
It's just that we aren't going to get flooded anytime soon. If you look at the recent facts. Oh well.

I think it gets hot first then it rains a lot winter comes and heavy snow never melts keeping because its so deep earth stays cooler then next winter comes and an ice age begins. Some ice ages are catastrophic others are not but people suffer either way.

Is everyone afraid of this topic or what? (smiles warmly)
Or its it that it is "new" research that takes some of the wind from the sails of "global warming"?

We should have seen this coming.
