can eat shit
spend the money on renewable energy
you can not fake the press releases in a studio
I may be wrong but all these photos are hand colored (fake)

Are you ok? You don't sound ok. Not ok at all.
Not put well either. but..Anyway,
Dissing Nasa isn't where it's at. Obviously. You would be amazed at the sheer amount of technology that has come from NASA. It's freaking amazing and most of that stuff didn't even involve leaving the earth! I'm not talking about just Velcro and mylar balloons!
have a better day today I hope :)

that telescope may be a little expensive but if you make an igoogle.com homepage (it literally take 30sec) then you can add an app. called Spectacular Stars and Galaxies which show cases a different mind blowing pic everyday.

stephenthomson,
I want to ask you a question...
Can you see the stars at home?
Have you ever been to a place where the Milky Way is so bright that it casts a shadow?
(It can btw)
If not, kindly realize that you suffer from what most Americans suffer from...
The inability to see the Universe as it really is because we decide to light up the sky with man-made light which costs us money to do so...
Electricity does not grow on trees and Santa doesn't bring it on Christmas morning either!

this god-like display of astrophysical proportions over compensates the cleche "just like heaven". I begin to wonder if this is a glimpse into how heaven really looks like. It's ashame that the hubble is the only thing from earth that can capture a vision as this.

Are you saying that it only looks that way because Nasa assigned different colors to the periodic table of elements?

Put me in a hubble, I'll go snapping pictures of Galaxies and star clusters, just give me at least 10 years worth of Campbell's Chunky soup, A Zune Multi media player, a Nudey' Mag, yeah gonna need that, unless I get pulled into some planets orbit that turns out to be inhabited by peculiar but hot looking women, um yeah anyway, the list goes on, but I'd do it....:)

Just curious, but what has given us better off hand benefits than that program in general?
Besides the obvious of public welfare & health, do you have any "pet" projects you would like to see get more attention.
ps, everything is getting green now or aware of it.. so that is a beat horse, and our carbon footprints are acutely aware of themselves.. (laughs and smiles)
So many things though. I was curious, that's all.

How about this? It enriches our lives to be aware of the beauty that God (or the big boom) made in our universe.
It's inspiring to me as an artist.
I see others are amazed by the beauty also.I do understand what you are talking about with all the hungry people and aids people in 3rd world countries, not to mention in the USA, it is hard to realize that a project such as this, brings hope to an ugly world.
Take care :)

breathtakingly expensive! Why is it necessary to be reassured there's lots of pretty colors in the universe??\
I could have guessed that was the case. this photo does not mean much to me, i hope it means something to the scientists, who might then explain what the hell life is all about. otherwise it's a waste of my tax money.

I rather my money go towards something like this that is used for research than go towards people who play sports for a living and make millions of dollars just for throwing a football or hitting a baseball. Those people should NOT be making that high of money. Same thing for music artists.
Teachers, professors, psychologists, doctors, librarians etc.. people who actually help others deserve that money. Or how about taking all of those players millions and helping get the US out of debt? Help the economy get back in line?
Yes-- This is an expensive piece of equipment but at least it helps us expand our minds and experience things that we wouldn't be able to without it.
